I just purchased the SX260 and on the initial full battery charge only got about 100 pictures -- all taken indoors with flash. However, this only included a certain amount of experimenting with the camera during which I just went thu a lot of the settings just trying to familarize myself with all the different aspects. This obviously can drain the battery rather quickly. From reviews I have seen, they almost all have noted a short battery life for the SX260 with most report getting about 200 or so still shot but they didn't specify if these were using the flash or not or some combination of both. When I bought mine (on Amazon) I also ordered two back up batteries.

Any good way to extend the battery life on my SD4500? I'm lucky to get too shots before the battery dies - original or aftermarket. I got this camera for travel and took about 2000 shots in Peru, but had to keep spares in my pocket all the time. Is the battery life on the SX260 any better?
