Powershot D20 Error 20 What does this mean? How can I fix it?

I have a Powershot D20 which is a remarkable camera, my best travel partner ever.

Yesterday after being on the beach the screen showed a message like this " Please reset the camera. E20. The device will turn off"

I inmediately removed the battery in order to avoid any problems.

How can I fix that? Is it serious?

How can I reset the camera? only removing the battery?

Please help!
