I'm looking for an EASY-to-use compact camera with great zoom capability, quick reset to next photo (I don't know the technical term for this) that produces good quality photographs. I have little kids so the moment passes quickly. I've had the G-12 but it's bigger than what I want to carry around most of the time (and I never learned how to use most of the functions!).

Thanks for any help you can offer.

Before spending any money on another camera take the time to read this which I wrote several years ago for my travel forum friends. It may help you decide to learn to use that G 12 much more effectively because it's a fine camera.

http://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowTopic-g150809-i66-k1635038-Understanding_your_digital_camera_the_basics-Cozumel_Yucatan_Peninsula.html

I shoot a G 9 as my underwater camera & the g12 is more refined.

Ok, thanks for the info! I'm still looking for a smaller camera to carry with me most of the time but I will work on my G-12 skills in the meantime. Thanks again.
