If the flash capacitor holds a charge, it is probably the thyristor discharge circuit into the tube, or the tube itself.

Hello, I have bought Canon AF35M II/Autoboy 2 and the flash is not workin, tried cleaning, measuring with multimeter and can find the issue. It pops up but doest fire. I have found a second one and the flash works. Onlu difference I found is that first one has 270V capacitor and the second one over 300V but "flash is ready" light comes on for both. Problem is the second one is stuck in down position and fires every time. Are there any assambley manual or some diagrams ? Can anybody point me to the direction of what I should do? I would really love to get the camera working.

Greetings,

Finding a manual or documentation for a 40-year-old camera is going to be challenging. Try eBay, maybe you'll get lucky.

If the capacitor is holding a charge, other circuitry could be damaged or failed due to age and it's unlikely you'll be able to figure it out.

If you're looking to take pictures, I would back burner this project and buy a more modern camera, even if shooting film is your goal. Good luck!

I have another camera for shooting, this one is to be fixed as a hobby and use for film. General manual wont help me, I am looking for something more specific.

Tube looks fine, other components can't tell, since I don't know where to find them...

By any chance, do you have any idea on how to get the second flash to pop out?
