Hello Canon Support,

I’m reaching out regarding an issue with my Canon PowerShot SX740 HS.

I am consistently receiving Error 70 with the message:
“An error prevented shooting. Turn the camera off and on again or re-install the battery.”

Here are the details of the issue:

The error appears specifically when I raise or attempt to use the flash

The camera powers on normally otherwise

The issue is reproducible and happens every time the flash is activated

Troubleshooting steps I have already completed:

Removed and reinstalled the battery (using an original Canon NB-13L)

Tested with and without the SD card inserted

Used a high-quality SD card (SanDisk Extreme Pro 64GB, UHS-I)

Performed a full power reset (battery removed for several minutes)

Despite these steps, the issue persists.

Based on this behavior, it seems the problem may be related to the flash system or internal hardware. The camera is relatively new (approximately 8 months old), so I would like guidance on the next steps.

Could you please advise:
Whether this issue is repairable through troubleshooting or requires service

The process for sending the camera in for inspection or repair

I can provide proof of purchase if needed.

Thank you for your assistance, and I look forward to your guidance.
