topic Broken Toggle on PowerShot SD450 in Point & Shoot Digital Cameras

My SD450 PowerShot has a wobbly toggle that positions/slides into place for the picture, video, and function modes. It will position easily into the video and function settings, but I have to finagle it to go into the picture mode. Is this a fixable problem if I send the camera in? Or should I call Canon for help?

Thanks for letting us know what Canon product you've got. The PowerShot SD450 is an older model which we have retired. While that means that Canon USA no longer offers direct support for it, your friends here in the Canon Community are welcome to offer suggestions!

You can also speak with a Canon Upgrade Program specialist to help you score a modern replacement that would meet your current needs at a discount. You can reach them Monday through Friday at 1-866-443-8002.

Hope this helps!

Greetings ,

Your camera is 21 years old. Unfortunately, it's time to start shopping for a new device.

Thank you. I did talk to Canon, and you are right, they can only offer a discounted upgrade on some other cameras. I even looked for Canon repair service centers to see if it is even possible to go inside the camera, and if there is a way to tighten it. I seem to be hitting roadblocks. The camera was a used camera bought for a present, because the teenager was looking for a retro camera, and this is the one he honed in on. I will see what else I can do. Again, thank you for your response.
