It's pretty self-evident. The camera can't communicate with the memory (SD) card. So it cannot store pictures you are trying to take. There are a number of possible reasons:

1. The card needs to be formatted in the camera.

2. The card is defective.

3. The card slot is damaged.

4. The camera has an electronic problem.

5. The card is larger than the camera can handle.

Do you have another SD card to try? Consult the camera's User Guide for specs on compatible SD cards.

Use reputable brands of SD cards purchased from a reputable camera dealer....not from Amazon. Look on B&H Photo's site and you'll see a number of them. Avoid the temptation to use a huge-capacity card. 16 or 32 GB will hold thousands of photos.

PowerShot G7 X "Card cannot be accessed" error message

Hi! I was using canon g7x camera, and this error message randomly popped up. The camera works, except for actually taking a picture. Can someone tell me what this means?
