Welcome to the forum and sorry to hear about your touch screen. It sounds like you know the answer already. That product was released in 2012 and definitely a retired product for Canon. Canon cannot repair it. There may be third-parties that would, but it would likely be less expensive to buy one used, or even perhaps a new camera than repairing it. If you really loved that particular model and want to search for another one used to replace it you might find it under the name of not only Ixus 420f, but also Ixy 420f (Japan), PowerShot ELPH 320 HS (US) or IXUS 240 HS (primarily Europe).

"Unfixable" might not be quite as accurate as "probably not reasonably fixable". Sorry for the bad news. Maybe someone here will prove me wrong and know of some Harry Houdini that can fix this for you inexpensively. For your sake I hope so.

hi, so i have an ixus 420f, and the touch screen doesn’t work anymore. the screen also has black areas on it, and i don’t think it can be repaired. i heard that it was discontinued. i wanted to come here as a last resort to see if its really unfixable.
