Sx150 repairable?

I have an SX150 HS, great wee camera but the battery compartment cover will not remain shut. I am wondering; a) is it repairable 2) is it worth the repair cost? I found the Canon Support online abysmal.

The sx150 hs is about 14 yrs old. By today's standards, it's pretty low performing. Any modern smartphone could potentially outperform it.

Due to its age and parts availability, I'm not sure if it's still serviceable. I'm inclined to say not but it's easy to check. Other considerations, shipping and repair would likely be prohibitive. My recommendation would be replacement as this would be a better use money from a investment standpoint. Longevity and performance considered.

You can investigate the possibility of repair by logging into your MyCanon account and registering the device. You'll then see your support options and find out if service is possible. If it is, you can initiate a repair request and receive a quote. At that point, you'll be in a better position to make an informed decision.

Canon's newest powershot camera is the V1. There is also a rumor of a new G series coming back but nothing has been announced and there is no release date at this time.

1. Maybe repairable, if someone somewhere has parts, if needed. Not likely.

2. Worth the cost? No.
