Greetings ,

If the reset does not help, do you have a right to return? This is not a way you want to start out. The camera is 9 years old now. It's possible it's no longer being serviced by Canon and honestly it's probably not worth the cost (inspection and repair) even if they were.

Point and shoots are difficult to come by these days. Canon discontinued most of them until recently. The V1 was released a few months ago. It's a 22 megapixel point and shoot that takes fabulous photos with emphasis on 4K video. Canon is rumored to be announcing one or more G series point-and-shoots later this year, but there is no firm announcement or release date at this time. The new G series will be similar to the V1, but it will be a (stills) photography first centric camera. So less emphasis on video and more towards still image photography. Have a look at the V1, it's a powerhouse. It's certainly more expensive than a 9-year-old Elph360, but it's also packed with Canon's latest performance and features. The R50v Is another recently released product that offers the ability to change lenses but the body itself is tiny. Perfect for somebody with small hands. It's not something that you'd want to put in a purse or a shirt pocket, but It's pretty small in comparison to other mirrorless interchangeable lens cameras.

Shop Canon PowerShot V1 | Canon U.S.A., Inc. https://share.google/2VvRbCulK5o2e56Wc

Shop Canon EOS R50 V + RF-S14-30mm F4-6.3 IS STM PZ Lens Kit | Canon https://share.google/feRnlaHCMbMKqJSON

The R50v comes body only for $699 or with a RF 14-30mm power zoom lens for $929. There's a rocker knob on the camera body that controls the zoom or a focus knob on the lens that you rock back and forth with your fingers to adjust the zoom. I shoot full frame but I just bought the R50v and was absolutely blown away by how fun and cool it is.

Greetings,

Are you the original owner of this camera? Or was it purchased second hand. Has it been dropped? Is this new behavior?

Please start by resetting the camera's settings to defaults. Put the camera into automatic mode and retest.

You camera supports a variety of shooting modes and customized scene settings. These are the specs for your camera. Depending on your settings (shooting mode), the MFD (minimum focus distance) can change.

Normal: 2.0 in. (5.0cm) - infinity (W), 3.3 ft. (1.0m) - infinity (T)
Auto: 0.4 in. (1.0cm) - infinity (W), 3.3 ft. (1.0m) - infinity (T)
Macro: 0.4 in. - 1.6 ft. (1-50cm) (W)
Infinity: 9.8 ft. (3.0m) - infinity (W), 9.8 ft. (3.0m) - infinity (T)

Is it possible you have a custom shooting mode set?

Elph360 User Guide:
