Good day, everyone. I was given a PowerShot G2 from a friend. She asked if I could look at it and find out if it can be fixed. I found out it has a bent pin in the CF card slot. Question: 1) Can it be fixed, and 2) Is it worth it?

It MAY be possible depending upon how badly it was bent and your level of skill in straightening it. Work slowly using good light (and a magnifier if needed). The common approach is to use one or two tiny precision screwdrivers to manipulate the bent pin and work it back into proper shape. If you can find good quality micro needle nose pliers, they are also useful but don't bother trying to buy any of the cheap junk from Amazon or the equally bad junk sold in hardware stores.

I made a little tool a long time ago to use for working on various connector pins by slicing the point off a small philips screwdriver and using a tiny drill bit in my press along with a X/Y table to make a hole in it slightly larger than the pin size I was working on. You might find something like this that is made for another purpose.

However, IF you are successful in straightening the pin then realize it has been weakened and is far more prone to breakage now. So put a card in it to stay and use only the USB cable (or whatever that model uses) for transferring files.

Other options are some connector manufacturers use a process that makes individual pins replaceable but that likely isn't the case with a mass production camera so your remaining option would be to replace the CF connector. For this, even with a hot air rework station you wouldn't want this to be your first project.
