Thanks for posting!

While our Forum Community members are welcome to chime in, the Canon PowerShot A630 has been retired. That means we do not offer support for the camera. We recommend updating to a more modern camera and reaching out to our Canon Upgrade Program specialist who will go over the best options for upgrading your printer.

FLASH GOES OFF BUT PICTURES DON’T SHOW ANY SIGN OF FLASH ON!

i’ve had trouble with the flash for a while, and for the past month the camera has started to get finicky with simply clicking the shoot. it’s new thing is that no matter the darkness, no matter the setting, it will tease me into thinking it’s shooting with flash (because it goes off) and then the picture is dark. any help appreciated!

Does the camera expose properly without using flash? With flash, are image visible but too dark, or total blackness?

Do you see shutter speed and/or aperture changes when turning the flash on and off?

This camera is an oldie and very possibly failing. Might just be time to replace it.
