Canon Powershot A3000 IS shows that it's "busy" and a black screen

Hi,

I just got this camera from my parents, they didn't need it anymore, so I thought I'd put it to use. I bought a new battery and have an SD with half the memory left over. I put both of them in and turned it on to a black screen and when I would press the button to take the photo, the flash and everything would work, but it would present a "busy" on the screen. If the camera stays on for a while, it says error in camera, camera will shut down soon. I tried searching it up on the web and it told me to turn it off and remove the battery and SD card and everything and I did that, I also tried resetting the camera, also didn't work.

If anyone could help me, that would be greatly appreciated! Thank you in advance to everyone!!
