Canon sx220 powershot hs wont turn on

My canon sx220 camera is not turning on. I bought this camera second-handed from Ebay two weeks ago, it was working perfectly fine when it arrived. After that, i left it in a box and now that i want to use it, it's not turning on. I tried removing the battery and charging it and also removing and inserting back the memory card but still nothing.
