I have a PowerShot A1000 IS, it's a few years old, but in immaculate condition. For some reason when I use the zoom the images always come out blurred. What am I doing wrong? Plus, how do I set the shutter speed pls?

Sounds like something stuck in the lens. It probably needs to be repaired.

As for shutter speed, all you can do is slow it down for long exposures, there is no manual control mode.

Thx, how do I 'slow down' the shutter speed anyway?

I would if I had one, it was recently given to me by my sister after her hubby died, as it had been his, but he'd never used it. I know, I know, should have tried to source it as a PDF online, throws hands up in submission!
