IXUS 980 IS won't focus

Hi! I have an old camera, the canon digital ixus 980 is, that my family has had for a while and i've been using a lot lately. in the middle of taking a few photos, the screen went blurry and would not focus no matter what. ive tried tuning the settings, but nothing seems to be working. help please?
