How do i verify that it is authentic ?

I am not sure what you mean, it is hard to fake a camera.

The best way is to buy from a reputable dealer like Adorama or B&H. (or even Canon Refurbished)

If you have the serial number you can call 1-800-OK-CANON (1-800-652-2666) to see if it is a camera intended for sale within the United States.

Please note however, we do not recommend 3rd party sales because warranties don't transfer and we cannot guarantee that camera is in factory condition.
