LCD screen works but goes black when menu or DISP. buttons pressed - SX230 HS

Hiya,

My SX230 HS has not been used in a while. But when I turned it on today, and hit either the MENU or DISP buttons the screen goes black, although the camera is still on.

The screen works as it lights up when turned on or in the MEDIA section.

I was wondering if there is a fix for this or a way to reset the camera externally (i.e., with a computer) as I obviously cannot see my camera to do it internally!

Thanks for letting us know what Canon product you've got. The PowerShot SX230 HS is an older model which we have retired. While that means that Canon USA no longer offers direct support for it, your friends here in the Canon Community are welcome to offer suggestions!
