IXUS 190 Firmware update

I need help updating my ixus 190. I have followed the instruction but when I put the card into the camera and look at the menus there is not an option to update firmware. Anyone have any ideas?

Yes I am everything goes ok until the last bit I put my card in and follow instructions but when the menu comes up there is no firm update under resume.

Are you putting only the .fir file on the card and in the root level (where you see the Canon folders)?

The card was formatted and empty and I have been only putting the file into it. There is only the 1 item on the card showing on the computer before I put it back in the camera.

Try formatting in canera and then transferring the .fir file onto the card.
If that doesn’t work give Canon a call. You should be able to find the support number for your country on the site where you located the file.
