The SX150 IS' battery life is worst, especially using alkaline batteries. Not much you can do, maybe you can try rechargeable battery. And don't use flash.

Hi Charrz,

For the bet performance, we recommend the use of rechargeable Nickel Metal Hydride (NiMH) batteries in your camera. We recommend a power rating of at least 2500 milliamp-hour (MAH). More is better, still.

You may also use good set of alkaline batteries and lithium Ion batteries in your camera.
