I just purchased Power Shot SX720 HS.

I am unable to connect to mac pro wi fi.

Using OS X El Capitan version 10.11.6

router is working fine and I have a laptop running windows 10 which was able to connect wirelessly; so proper wifi password, etc. has been placed in camera.

Have also tried using WPS mode on my router. No luck.

The camera is picking up the name of my computer but is not finding the device, i.e. the mac pro wifi

Did you install camera app in your control panel? Give a name for your camera. Try NFC method

Sorry to be so dense but is control panel in Mac the system preferences location? I went there and tried to install the camerawindowDC8 app by dragging and dropping. System preferences will not take and when I go to security and privacy and modify it so that it can receive an app from any location, still will not take the app into system preferences

Is there perhaps an internet link that will explain what you have suggested? BTW, my iphone connects perfectly. The problem is getting a camera app to open on my desktop.

For Mac it is system preference, find a way to install the app and open the app to proceed the wifi connection.
