topic S100 Battery Life in Point & Shoot Digital Cameras

I love everything about this camera except the battery life. I am lucky to get 50 RAW shots and 3 min of video before the battery dies. This happens on fully charged Canon and aftermarket batteries. Is this normal? Has anyone found a battery with better life?

Jrusher1,

The battery should last longer than just 50 shots. Maybe there is a poor connection between it and the camera. Try cleaning the contacts on the battery and inside the battery compartment using a soft microfiber cleaning cloth. That should improve the connection between them.

If this does not work, your PowerShot S100 will need to be evaluated by our Factory Service Center. To start the repair process, you'll need to complete a Repair Request on our website.

If this is a time sensitive-matter, additional support options are available at Contact Us.
