G7x to Mac via USB

I understand that the wifi doesn't work with Mac's new operting system (so frustrating), however, I can't get the USB connection to work either. I connect the camera to the laptop via USB and small (mini?) USB, but nothing happens. There doesn't seem to be any avaliable software. Please help.

1. Is wifi turned off in camera?

2. Image Capture on Mac can be used to download files if you aren't importing into Photos.

3. If you are using Photos it will open automatically when the camera is detected.

You may need to use a card reader.

Try a new cable. It should just work. many Mac's (except the new ones, sniff) have card readers built in, you can try that.
