Studio shoot with Sam

I took these in the studio a few days ago. The setup was a clear polycarbonate sheet hung in front of the model. The sheet was sprayed with water from a spray bottle and a light grey mottled background was positioned behind the model. I used a small 16-inch diameter beauty dish with a grid as the main light from above on the camera left side. There was also a second light from the camera left aimed at the plastic from behind to increase the visibility of the water drops.

By getting Sam to move closer to the plastic and then further away you can change the look of the shoot quite readily. Also moving the background closer to Sam or further back gave other variations.

EOS R6 Mark II with EF 85mm f/1.4L IS USM

Elinchrom studio strobes.

Nice portraits, Brian! I like them both but I prefer the second one, as Sam looks like he is really standing in the rain. Great creativity in using the Polycarbonate sheet the way you did. I also like the first picture. Sam looks like he is looking at the rain from a window. 👍

Thank you John, it was good to have a bit of a creative play on a shoot for a change, and I knew Sam was the ideal person to portray a villainous character to go with the setup.
