Third time's the charm. After 2 previous attempts that didn't go as planned due to "learning experiences", I went back out Saturday night and gave it a final go. I found a better location, set up and went for it.

Processing the image was definitely an exercise in learning, as it's so much different than the DSO images I've done so far, but I think I got there in the end.

Capture Details:

Location:
Suffolk, VA, USA

Bortle:
Bortle 5

Dates:
10/19/2024

Shooting Data:
10/19/2024: 90 x 60"

Equipment:
EOS Ra Body
EF 400mm f/5.6L USM Lens
Sky Watcher Star Adventurer GTi Mount
ZWO ASIAir Pro
Optolong L-Pro EOS-R Filter

Software:
Siril
StarNet++
Adobe Photoshop

That's one of the best images I have seen of the comet so far! Well done. I never got to see the thing as I am too far north (I live down under) and we had some cloud. I will just have to wait another century or so to see the darned thing again!

Thank you. There are always comets out there, so I'm sure something will have good visibility on your side of the planet. You have objects visible to you down there that I will never see unless I travel, so it's probably a wash.

Andy
