Great pic, but at our feeder the blue jays are only kings when Mourning Doves and Yellow-rumped Warblers aren't around. Yep those tiny yellow-rumped warblers chase all of the other birds off when they are in their way.

Thanks! Ha! That's a hoot. I don't have many Yellow-rumped Warblers around very often, and I've never seen one in a feeder, but the Blue Jays here dominate the Mourning Doves.

Nice shot. You handled the complementary colors well.

I read a long time ago that blue jays are your best friend and your worst enemy in the forest.

They are your best friend because they are the first to alert you when an enemy approaches.

They are your worst enemy because they are the first to let your enemies know that you are approaching.
