Auckland city has a fairly strong ethnic mix and that is supported and celebrated by the council through public events. One of those is the Diwali festival and these images were shot on my last visit.

I wanted to go with just the one camera and lens, so I took a trusty R6 along with the RF 24-240 IS USM lens, which often sits in the shadow of its L siblings, but is a really good optic. It's the first real super zoom since the EF28-300L lens, released about 19 years ago and is a lot lighter!

All images hand-held, available light

R6, RF 24-240@129mm, f/6.3, 1/100sec, ISO-100 R6, RF 24-240@118mm, f/6.3, 1/125sec, ISO-250

55mm, f/7.1, 1/30sec, ISO-200'

R6, RF 24-240@94mm, f/5.6, 1/100sec, ISO-125
