Thursday I shot a high school soccer game under some of the most miserable conditions I have been in with mixed moderate rain and mist with plenty of wind and temperatures in the mid 40s F. The Canon 1 series gear and L series glass was fine and didn't mind working in lousy weather like I did.

First shot with 1DX Mark III with EF 400 f2.8 @ f2.8, 1/1250, ISO 640 and the second with 1DX Mark II with EF 24-70 f2.8 @ f3.2, 1/400, ISO 250. The heavy mist, when it wasn't raining, made it seem like shooting in a fog which doesn't do much for contrast or color but the girls do have photos from the last game of their regular season and this win made them undefeated in their conference. The weather for playoff games looks MUCH better.

Rodger

Soccer meets water poloThese uniforms may never look new again

Water polo? Good shots with the cloudy conditions. I have seen baseball games where a ground ball in the grass sends up rooster tails of water.

Beautiful. I love to shoot in the rain, and with birds it adds this slightly surreal look.

Newton
