@srtr100 opened the topic, so I'll contribute. I really enjoy taking these and I'm not quite sure the reason. I guess it's just learning to open my eyes and really see details in a new way that brings me joy. Here is a small sampling of my fixation on the theme:)

And because we just should not live without some whimsy, color, and pareidolia in our lives (from my phone cam)

Good use of B&W. The first photo has what woodturners call a dragon's eye.

The second one is interesting. It somewhat resembles a sheet of veneer.

I definitely prefer the black-and-white shots and could see them as large-scale prints in the room of a woodsy lodge in the mountains because they create instant ambiance. Very nice.

Yeah, I can see that. I thought it looked like a dinosaur eye, but I like the dragon eye idea better! Thanks.
