@Ramsden macro is a world all its own and you must have patience, have perseverance and the will to fail in order to master macro photography. Use as many professional resources as you can find to learn and master the fundamental aspects of macro and in the end, you will open an entirely new field of photography to share your vision.

Macro has one additional advantage, its great for your health. It has me wandering local preserves for hours just looking for willing subjects.

I haven't had much success with Macro and extension tube. Here's my attempt with 24mm macro and 25mm extension, just now.

It was quite windy so had to switch to Servo. My problem on sunny windy days is quite simply creating a composition and altering the camera settings because of the sun on the screen

Hi Marc

Thanks for the encouragement and great photos. I'll do some more research to improve my skills in this genre. I love the finished article and like you I spend lots of time on country lanes, and hedgerows have so much to give. I'm really a novice in this genre, so a lot of experimenting to come.

Thanks again for your feedback.

Ramsden

Thanks

My pleasure Ramsden!

Your early work is pretty much where most of us started, it gets better with time. There is a gentlemen by the name of Stewart Wood that has some good information on macro. He is a bit rough around the edges but is knowledgeable, has a good sense of humor and goes into the details of how to start up, different types of equipment and lighting. He has a YouTube channel and a private closed forum specifically for Macro. He doesn't do sponsored reviews, it's all about Macro. Like anything else you can take away useful bits and pieces that you can apply to macro if you want to continue down that path.

I'll check him out now.
