A week ago I shot this on Independence Day. The fireworks were scheduled to start at 9:30. It rained until 8:00. I did not figure that the show would go on, but it did. Since parking would be a hassle, especially on such a short time frame, I figured it would be better to walk out to bike path and try to shoot there, going out into the field adjacent to it in order to get a better view. Well, the field was overgrown so I had to remain on the bike path. Most of the pictures of the fireworks were smaller and unimpressive on account of the focal length of the lens and my shooting position. I did get one interesting shot. This one shows firework just as it explodes and lights up everything with 1/2 mile radius.

Canon R100; 55mm f1.9 Minolta MC Rokkor; Neutral picture style; ISO 400 1/60 sec f4.

I am aware of little lens flare in the leaves. It was a humid evening and some condensation formed on the filter.
