That is a great scenic location. IMO, the person seems to be admiring the scene in the distance; adds to the overall meaning of the picture.

I was scouting an area of Ballintoy Harbour in Northern Ireland while on a small group photo tour. Just after a period of wind and rain, I found this amazing cave. I went in the cave and shot photos looking out into the clearing sky with my R5 and adapted EF 17-40 f4 L lens. After shooting about 6-7 photos a member of our group appeared out of nowhereI I silently took 2 shots with the person in the frame before he moved on. I like the other shots I took without a person in the frame, but there is something to be said about the human element in a landscape photo that just makes it special.

Camera: EOS R5

Lens: EF 17-40 f4 L lens with EF to R adapter with control ring.

Having a person in it really drives home how big that arch is, and we get to live vicariously through your subject. We're imagining ourselves in their shoes as they take in the view!

Thanks Danny

One of the changes or just development in my photography over the years is to occasionally include people in the landscape. I personally think that it can sometimes add a connection to the landscape that we all share. I think this is particularly evident i places like Ireland and Iceland where wide open spaces are the norm.

Thanks so much, John. These are truly amazing, magical places where you can feel a connection to Ireland's long history.
