Trash #1

This trash pile is made from rusted, mangled corrugated irrigation pipes. On my way to work I pass by several "masterplanned" communities aka housing tracts that are displacing massive acreage of farmland and new houses are going up by the hundreds--not an exaggeration. Near my day job on a lot awaiting construction, this refuse was dumped. The trash pile intrigued me for several days, so today I stopped with my R100 and 28mm lens and did some quick shots. The sky was overcast today which made the color more orangey.

Some of those shapes are interesting, like something out of a sci-fi end-of-world Armageddon type movie.

Another great photo op! Inanimate objects can make for profound photos. There is a junkyard north of Atlanta that attracts photographers for the classic cars of decades gone by. One photo that comes to mind is a pile of colored rope on a dock.

I'm attracted to junk and ugly. Classic beauty, too, of course, but for some reason I think inanimate junk is cool. I also love repurposing junk instead of throwing it away. I have a carving hobby and recently snagged a silverware caddy from a dishwasher of ours that died. It makes a perfect caddy for the carving knives.

Nice pics!
