topic TWAIN API on MAC and Auto Cropping in Office Printers

Hi All,

We are developing an application which drives the scanners. We are using TWAIN API to talk to the scanner.

On the Windows OS the TWAIN driver shows the settings/preview/scan UI which also does auto cropping of image and separates it from the background which is a critical requirement for us.

However on MAC (OSX Lion) this does not happen and the scanned image is just returned from the API and the settings/preview/scan UI is not launched. So in this case we will have provide functionality to manually crop this image. Since the requirement for image dimension is very strict this results in errors in processing that document

We have tested with some models but we see similar behaviour on MAC

Is this an expected behaiour or are there some settings on MAC which help bring up the UI and enables auto cropping?

Regards

Piyush
