Canon MB5070 cannot print Black without replacing color cartridges

Can help me?? I cannot print in black because I need to replace my color cartridges for my Canon MB5070.. The system tells me to replace the color cartridges. I just changed a brand new black ink. Anyway that I can overcome this without the need for me to buy new color cartridges which I do not need. such a hassle.
