MB2350 no double-sided copying from ADF

I have had an MB2350 for several years with no previous problems - but now having two issues with copying from the ADF.

First problem is a vertical line on prints for which I have found another forum thread with various suggestions. I have tried some but not all yet so hope to clear this problem soon.

The second problem arose at the same time so just wondering if there is a common fault. I have set the copying to do double-sided printing and if I do this from the platen it works fine. But if I try to use the ADF then it produces single sided prints for each side.

Grateful for any suggestions.
