topic MB5000: What is "WS"? in Office Printers

After installing the MB5000 printer, two Fax machines and two printers are configured in Windows 10:

Canon MB5000 series Printer

Canon MB5000 series Printer WS

Canon MB5000 series Fax

Canon MB5000 series Fax WS

Sometimes, the WS versions are offline while the non-WS versions are ready.

I don't think I have seen a difference when using one or the other, and I don't have true problems, but the additional entries in the list bother me. Can I remove the WS versions? Would I lose something if I did?

I am, by the way, located in Japan, but believe that this printer is also common in the USA.

Hello.

The 'WS' versions were added by the Microsoft WSD service. You should be able to remove these with no issues.

This didn't answer your question or issue?
