      <title>MF227dw No Longer Scans??</title>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;All of a sudden, my MF227 has stopped scanning. If you open the Toolbox and press "scan", nothing happens. I have removed all the Canon software and reinstalled everything including the recent firmware update, restarted my Win 7 PC but it has not solved the issue. The MF still prints fine, so I assume the hardware is okay. I've even tried scanning from the machine, but it just hangs up "confirming". Does anyone have a solution or some suggestions? Many thanks in advance.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;PS- When I use the Presto Scan Button I'm getting an error message that states it's "unable to get the image from the device" if that gives anyone a clue.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Connected directly by USB. I can actually scan by going to Windows Scanner application and it senses the scanner and vice versa so I know the connection is fine. It's just that the Canon software is not communicating with MF227.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;I cannot scan with the MF Toolbox. When I cklick on the B&amp;amp;W (or Color) Scan button, nothing happens. zero, nada. I can scan documents by using the native Windows Scan program although it doesn't offer pdf as an option (only TIFF, JPG etc) so I know the MF220 is properly connected by USB to my PC.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Hello ejalcan,&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;The issue that you are experiencing could be caused by other TWAIN devices that have been installed previously on&amp;nbsp;your computer.&amp;nbsp; Removing these devices from the Windows Twain32 folder may resolve this issue.&amp;nbsp; To do this, please follow these steps:&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;1.&amp;nbsp; Click the Start button in the bottom left corner of the Windows screen then select 'Computer'.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;2.&amp;nbsp; In the left-hand pane, click the arrow next to 'Local Disk (C: )' to expand the list.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;3.&amp;nbsp; In the left-hand pane, use the scroll bar on the left-hand pane to scroll down and then click arrow next to 'Windows' folder to expand the list.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;4.&amp;nbsp; In the left-hand pane, use the scroll bar on the left-hand pane to scroll down and then click 'twain_32' folder.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;5.&amp;nbsp; In the 'twain_32' folder, right-click on the non-Canon model folder and select 'Cut'.&amp;nbsp;&lt;STRONG&gt; Do not remove the wiatwain.ds file.&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;6.&amp;nbsp; Use the scroll bar on the left-hand pane to scroll up and then click 'Windows' folder.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;7.&amp;nbsp; In Windows folder, right-click in a blank any area and select 'Paste'.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;8.&amp;nbsp; If prompted to provide administrator permission to move the folder, click 'Continue'.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;9.&amp;nbsp; If prompted to provide permission again, click 'Continue'.&amp;nbsp; Once that is complete, restart&amp;nbsp;your computer.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;When&amp;nbsp;your computer restarts, open the MF Toolbox program and try scanning again.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;If you need immediate assistance and you're in the USA, please click &lt;A href="http://Canon.us/ContactCF" target="_blank"&gt;http://Canon.us/ContactCF&lt;/A&gt; for our US-based support.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;If you're outside of the US, please click &lt;A href="http://Canon.us/4xf7" target="_blank"&gt;http://Canon.us/4xf7&lt;/A&gt; for support options.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Did this answer your question?       <description>&lt;P&gt;Even though I have administrator privileges I was not allowed to paste the wiatwan file. Yes, I hit continue several times but it kept telling me the action is prohibited. I tried restarting my PC in hopes it might have worked anyway, but no go.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
