I too noticed that attachments show as un-named (eg. ATT0001.bin) in my case.

I have an MF8380Cdw as well, and with that model there was a bug in the FirmWare when sending emails.

Reported it. But it has never been fixed.

Hi,

Three separate issues:

1) The email (SMTP) settings on this machine do not allow to change the SMTP port to something other than 25. Any plan to allow different ports at some point in the fuure? Many ISP use ports other than the default 25 for their SMTP service.

2) When we use the function SCAN-to-EMAIL (over SMTP port. 25) it works fine *except* that the file sent (attached) has the extension .DAT instead of the normal .PDF (?) And that is true both on MS Outlook (POP account on Windows 7) and on iPhone! Weird. If I save the file on the desktop and then change its name from .DAT to .PDF, then it opens normally as a normal PDF file would, with Adobe Acrobat Reader. Why the .DAT extension?

Weirder: If the same scan is done to a shared folder (with SMB), then the file is *correctly* saved with .PDF extension.

3. The MF8580Cdw Firmware Update Tool (V03.03) does not work over the network. Obviously, I am using the correct IP address, and there is no special administrative account on that machine. Please let me know why.

Thanks!
