MX922 cleaning cycles and ink usage

I only print a few pages a day and the MX922 has turned out to be the wrong printer for that. It seems like half the time I have to wait minutes for the cleaning cycle to complete before I get the first page. Once the printer starts it prints quickly but the waits for it to start are really annoying. I have to replace the cartridges too often for the small amount of actual printing (and they really are expensive).

My old IP4500 was never this bad at making me wait. Also, it would power off automatically which the MX922 won't.

The MX922 does a great job on paper handling and photos but it is really poor for occasional small documents.

One unhappy customer.

Hello.

If left idle for an extended period of time or just powered on, our printers will go through a brief warmup process before printing. There does not appear to be a way to prevent this process from occuring.
