That's model dependent, for some Canon laser printers the drum is a part of the toner cartridge and for other it is a separate part. If you post the model number of your printer, then it should be able to work out if the drum can be purchased as a separate item.

I have had this printer for a year or two now and recently it has started printing very faded prints. I am unable to run any of the Gradation adjustments and only receive the error message "Could not perform function." I thought it might have been due to low toner but have just recently purchased and installed new genuine Canon toner and am left with the same print quality. I believe the issue might be with the printer possibly not using the magenta cartridge as some prints come out alright but faded and others come out completely off-colored.

I have tried every cleaning method I could find on the internet all to no avail. Attached are some pictures of the prints I did and the test page came out mostly fine minus a little fading of the blue text at the top of the page but the map I printed is missing lots of green and red text.

It's probably the drum unit, not the toner. After two years it wears out, causing precisely that, prints being faint, colors not correct, the gradations to be incorrect etc. Try putting each cartridge back in correctly first. If that does not work, try changing the drum unit and that should do the trick.

How would I go about replacing the drum unit? I can't find anything in the manuals about replacing it. Is the drum unit the part located when opening the back panel?
