Although everyone's environment is unique, there are a few things I would consider.

*Assign the printer a static IP on your network. This can be done on your router.

*Install the device as an IP printer on your operating system. This applies to Windows or Mac.

The above steps are best practice (for persistent devices) like a printer on your network. It should not be necessary to continuously power cycle or reinstall devices in order to maintain connectivity.

imageCLASS MF751Cdw scans first doc OK, "Can't communicate" error on second doc

I’ve been dealing with an ongoing issue with my Canon Color imageCLASS MF751Cdw since the day I bought it, and I’m curious if anyone else has experienced this.

The printer is set up completely wirelessly. There is no physical cable connection between my computer and the printer. Printing works fine, but scanning is another story.

Here’s what keeps happening: I’ll power on the printer, scan one document successfully through the automatic feeder using the touchscreen, then immediately try to scan a second document and get an error on my computer that says:

“Cannot communicate with the scanner. The cable may be disconnected or the scanner may be turned off. Check the scanner status and try again. Scanner driver will be terminated. Error code 60007.”

This has happened repeatedly over time. I’ve called technical support multiple times. They remote in, reinstall drivers, toggle settings, and everything works by the end of the call. But then days, weeks, or sometimes a month later, the exact same issue returns.

It’s frustrating because the fix never seems permanent. Has anyone else run into this with a wireless setup? If so, were you able to find a long-term solution?

The static IP doesn't work. I read so many of these posts with the same issue. Canon support is the worst. They need to release a YouTube video with a solution. Everyone is having the same issue where the printer loses connection with the computer and so many people can no longer print. You would think Canon would do something by now. So many posts on this. I have yet to find a solution that works.
