topic imageCLASS MF644Cdw - Error when printing from Windows 11 - requires printer power cycle in Office Printers

We recently started having this problem with our ImageCLASS MF644Cdw print/scan/fax appliance:

User sends a document to printer. Looking at Windows print queue for the printer, the document appears, then says "printing", then after about 20 seconds says "error". TYhis is repeatable. Power cycling the printer clears the error, then prints the document without further input from PC.

At first I thought this was a printer driver installation issue, so I removed the printer from Windows, then reinstalled it using the UFR II driver v3.31, but the error persists.

How do I resolve this?

(User had no problems when he used his old Windows_7 laptop)

After spending two days on this I have given up. Apparently, this model is no longer supported at all.

So I am hauling it to e-waste. After all, my notes say I bought it in 2010, so I guess I can't be too surprised.

I have bought a new version to replace it: MF643Cdw. And I have some problems with that as well, but that will be a new topic.
