Not sure if this is a typical issue with many users, but I have to always tap the screen on my MF753 to wake it up in order for a job to print. Isn't it suppose to wake up without manual intervention?

Greetings,

Yes. Typically the printer would wake (from sleep) to print regardless of the connection method. USB, Wi-Fi or Ethernet.

Not sure if I'm missing something in Settings in regards to this. Always requires a manual wake for the job to go through.

Well, I went into Timer Settings and disabled Auto Sleep which seems to have corrected the issue. For some reason, I thought the printer would always be humming away without Auto Sleep enabled but not so.

Greetings ,

Both of my lasers sleep after a minute and wake when print jobs are sent. They're connected wirelessly and any device connected to the same network can utilize them.

You should not have to disable auto sleep for the device to continue "listening" for print jobs when it's in a low power (sleep) state.

Are you using wireless? Can you ping the printer's IP address when it's in a low power state from a computer on the network?

What is the brand and model of router. If the router is not passing packets correctly, print jobs could be ignored.

I advocate assigning a static IP address to persistent devices on a network (like a printer). This ensures persistency and ensures the ability for any device to always find the printer at its "destination IP". This only has to be done once on your router. If rhis is something you'd like assistance with, tell us the brand and model of your router. I also suggest installing the printer as an IP printer.

If you continue to have issues after doing the above steps I would contact Canon support.

Start by registering your device in your my Canon account.

MyCanon https://share.google/PBwcda6kKVrnVGUx5

Then call 1-800-652-2666.
