Hello,

If the jobs just sit in queue and you do not get a response from the printer, it will point to a communication issue. If you can access the web UI and adjust settings, the printer should have a valid ip address and the network card is working.

In this situation, you can try adding the printer from printers and scanners using the IP address. You can click the option to add a printer from printers and scanners and select ip as the connection type. IN the USE dropdown box, you can select the printer's name from the list of available drivers.

If that fails as well, I suggest contacting support directly. Our agents would be happy to check the connection and network environment to see what is causing the issue.

Hello,

I reset our ImageClass MF810Cdn printer to factory. We had a bunch of old security cruft that was no longer needed, so, path of least resistance.

The printer is on a network and all clients will be connecting over the same network.

It appears to be up and functional when I use the local dashboard to configure the printer.

I'm able to log into the remote console and change the settings there.

I installed the UFR II/UFRII LT Printer Driver & Utilities for Mac V10.19.20 on my system.

I attempt to print a test page through the default Mac Print Queue. <<<===--- This times out.

I've been through the setup guide.

What am I missing?

-Russ

I'm a Windows & Android user, so my knowledge of Apple products is fairly limited. Have the latest version of drivers been downloaded to both the printer & computer 🤔

A problem involving an Apple computer and a different Canon printer was opened by another user. In that situation, the OP noted that his unit started acting up as the result of an update to macOS.

Was your computer recently updated? 🤔

Just like Windows, Apple is always releasing updates. So, yes, I count 2 weeks ago as recent. I'll get another in a couple of weeks.

However, every other printer, Canon, Brother, HP, or what have you, prints without issues. Other systems that haven't been updated in a couple of months are also showing the same signs. Basically, that is:

The computer is able to access the web portal running on the printer.

I am able to log into the administrator account on that printer.

When I log in, the only error showing is that Cyan toner is low, but it does not yet require changing.

When installing the drivers, I do not receive any errors, and the driver installer says the printer is available and ready.

Attempting to print from any application, or print a test page from the Mac Print Queue, results in a printer is not found error.

I do not have any firewall active.

I am on the same network, and the same subnet, as the printer: 192.168.72.0/24.

I believe that should cover most, if not all of the standard troubleshooting area to eliminate the printer as a problem. In this case, it pretty much point the finger at the printer.
Is there any additional set up required to get this printer to talk to it's driver? As I said, the installer sees it and validates it for driver installation, and then when we go to print, it claims it can't find the printer that the driver installer just found.

-Russ
