topic imageCLASS MF634Cdw Windows 11 scans single sided from feeder but not double sided in Office Printers

Have had this printer/scanner for years and it worked great. About 3 months ago it stopped scanned from the computer - the MFScanUtility would appear briefly on the task bar and then disappear. I just updated to version 1.21.02. Now, in "settings" if I clear the check box "scan both sides when scanning from feeder" and then click "document" to scan, it will feed multiple pages from the feeder and scan the front side of each page. If I set "document" to "scan both sides when scanning from feeder", nothing happens when I click "document".

HELP! Bought this specifically to do double-sided scanning.

Thanks.

Greetings,

The MF Scan Utility application closing unexpectedly is a software issue related to your install or software environment. The MF634Cdw does supports single pass duplex scanning.

I suggest you remove the printer from Windows, uninstall its driver including the scan utility and restart your system.

Now reinstall the print driver that includes ScanGear and then the Scan Utility.

Thanks - that worked a charm. I had tried downloading and reinstalling, but the uninstall and reboot steps were apparently key. The link that installs the printer driver does not install the scanner driver, so I went back and downloaded that separately, installed, and all seems good. The install program couldn't find my networked printer. I got that to work, though I'm not sure if it was disabling the Windows firewall temporarily or hitting "home" on the printer screen to wake it up that did the trick.

Thanks for the prompt assist.

Jordan
