      <description>&lt;P&gt;I am unable to get my Color Image Class MF654Cdw to connect to my Win 11 pc. I am trying to use a USB connection. I got the printer installed on the pc but it is offline. I am unable to get it online. It is set as default, everything has been restarted several times, use offline is unchecked, it has been reinstalled. What can I do to use my printer?&lt;/P&gt;</description>

&lt;P&gt;I'd like to assist you with your printer.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;A USB connection is great for a single computer, but if you have a wired or wireless network available, using it will offer more versatility as it will allow any device connecting to the same network the ability to print.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;I'm happy to provide instructions for either method. Let me know what you prefer.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Since your initial installation attempt has failed. It's best that you start over.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;If you will use USB, please disconnect the cable from your computer now.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Please remove the printer from the Settings applet.&amp;nbsp; If you installed any software, please remove any drivers or utilities from the Programs and Features applet.&amp;nbsp; **Important, Restart your system.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Please visit the support portal for your printer below and navigate to the downloads for Windows 11.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Canon Support for Color imageCLASS MF654Cdw | Canon U.S.A., Inc. &lt;A href="https://share.google/hO2uTAVg5ID5ncSFb" target="_blank"&gt;https://share.google/hO2uTAVg5ID5ncSFb&lt;/A&gt;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;You need two drivers in order to install the printer under Windows 11 OS.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;[Windows 64bit] MF656Cdw/ MF654Cdw/ MF653Cdw/ MF652Cw MFDrivers (Generic Plus UFR II / Generic FAX / ScanGear)&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;[Windows 32bit &amp;amp; 64bit] MF Scan Utility Ver.1.21.0.2&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;If you are going to use a wired ethernet or wireless connection, you'll need to connect the printer to the network before software installation.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;If you plan to use USB, do not connect the device until prompted to do so.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;When ready, run the first installer following the prompts.&amp;nbsp; It will prompt you to connect the printer if you decide to use USB.&amp;nbsp; Once the print driver is installed, you will run the MF Scan Utility.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;At that point, printing and scanning should be functioning.&amp;nbsp; Please note you cannot use both connections at the same time, so pick one and use that connection type.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;It's important that you remove the device and software then restart your system before attempting installation again.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Thanks for the reply. I only have a Win11 laptop, no network, which is why I need to use USB. I have no other way to use the printer. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the printer several times. I have removed everything I could related to canon. I've power cycled the printer, restarted the pc several times. I will follow your instructions and do it again. I'll let you know.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

&lt;P&gt;Your image is low resolution, I'm not able to enlarge or read it.&amp;nbsp; Please post a larger image of the error or provide the text.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;You are using USB for the connection type.&amp;nbsp; You said there is no network.&amp;nbsp; You aren't connecting the printer to Ethernet or Wireless, therefore there is no network IP address.&amp;nbsp; The printer would need to be connected to a network for it to get an IP.&amp;nbsp; So yes, you would not be able to specify or connect to a fictitious address that does not exist.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;USB is the only way I can go if I can figure how to do that. The only thing Canon instructions tell you to do is plug in the cable. That does not work. Now if I can't install drivers, it's useless. I have removed every trace of that ScanGear I could find.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
