topic imageCLASS MF654Cdw Cannot communicate with the scanner/ Please connect to the computer in Office Printers

I see this post a lot but, so far, nothing works for me. Any assistance would be appreciated.

I have a Canon MF654Cdw Printer/Scanner attached to my computer via USB (I have tried 5 different USB Cables). I am running Windows 11.

I can print just fine, but I am unable to scan - with error messages from my computer when I try to use the scan utility and error messages from my scanner when I try to scan directly from the scanner function on the printer. I have reinstalled both the latest printer drivers and scan utility. I have recycled the computer and printer/scanner numerous times.

The most frustrating thing is that the printer works perfectly fine, so I know the USB connection is there.

If anyone has any straws for me to grasp at please let me know.

Thanks in advance for any assistance.
