topic MB2720 won't switch cassettes automatically in Office Printers

<P>It's been a long haul of diagnostics getting to this simple one. The question is, is it Canon or Microsoft? Right now, the printer will go to envelopes /8.5X11 and print a letter on an envelope. I was doing all kinds of gyrations trying to not waste time and envelopes when I discovered if I go to PRINT, PRINTER PROPERTIES, then up at the top is "Currently used settings." A manual moving that to standard will get the correct media entry and I can do a letter. Move it back to envelope and I can do an envelope. THIS SHOULD MOVE AUTOMATICALLY, resting on 'standard' until such time as I need an envelope, resting in cassette #1. After typing the envelope and printing it via Word, I can return to typing another letter and have it come from cassette#2, where it is supposed to come from. The last 3 MB2720s have been flawless, especially with the automatic switching. I left envelopes in drawer #1, 8X11 in #2. Now I have to change paper and info in #1 each time an envelope and letter are involved. Again, should I continue asking Canon (they've been nice but say it's Microsoft) or go to Microsoft where AI says he doesn't understand the question?</P>
