I have the same issue with my MF4150 which I have had for years with virtually no issues. After I cleared the paper jam, one sheet of printed paper ran thru and again the paper jam message appeared with the flashing light. I removed the cartridge again and found a small spring at each end of the surface below where the cartridge sits. I do not know where the springs came from or how to reattach them. Is this why I am getting the error. Can you instruct how to fix this problem?

peace

George

I received a paper jam message, removed two complete sheets of paper, and closed up the machine, but the message will not go away. I've unplugged the machine (power and USB data), reopened the machine, removed/replaced the toner cartridge, and closed the doors multiple times, but still the message remains. A detailed search of the interior with a flashlight has not revealed any paper in the machine, but still no change. Could there be a jammed sensor?

Hi Wennie.

Please follow the instructions below to check for any paper in the toner cartridge sensor area:

1. Power off the machine and unplug it from the wall.
2. Open the toner cover door and remove the toner cartridge.
3. Looking inside the machine, you will see a long black roller that sits along the bottom back wall.
4. To the very left of this roller is a gray or white plastic, hook-shaped clip.
5. Pushing on the clip, you will find that it moves fairly easy. Using a flashlight, look behind and in front of the clip and check for any paper. It may be a small, corner edge of paper.
6. Remove any paper. Reseat the toner back in the machine and close the toner cover door.

If the message still appears, or if there is no paper in the machine, please contact us at 1-800-OK-CANON (1-800-652-2666) for further assistance.
